With different stars in the sky, 2014
The Multiverse, NN Contemporary, Northampton, UK
Curator: Catherine Hemelryk

Margaret Cavendish’s 1666 forerunner of science fiction, The Blazing World, forms the starting point of research for this work With Different Stars in the Sky. Cavendish imagines an alternate world and utopia that the Northampton-based graphic novelist Alan Moore referenced as a setting for part of his graphic novel series The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Both of these works inform Pip & Pop’s immersive installation at NN that also draws from folk stories, video games, ancient maps and ideas of promise.
